Mississauga Foundation Drain Collector Sump Pump Subsidy
The City of Mississauga established this program to help homeowners protect against basement flooding. It provides financial assistance covering the complete cost of sump pump installation, up to a maximum of $6,000 per household. This is one of the most generous municipal subsidy programs in the GTA.
Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for the subsidy, homeowners must meet all of the following criteria:
- Residence must be on a street serviced by the municipal Foundation Drain Collector (FDC) system
- Sump pump must have been installed on or after January 1, 2008
- Installation must be performed by a licensed Ontario plumber with a City of Mississauga business license
- Original invoice/receipt required with specific documentation
Required Invoice Information
Your installation invoice must include the following details to qualify:
- Property address where the sump pump was installed
- Contractor/plumber name and business license number
- Cost breakdown and total amount paid
- Payment completion confirmation
Application Process
- Complete and sign the Sump Pump Subsidy Program Application form
- Review and agree to subsidy terms and conditions
- Mail completed application with invoice to the City of Mississauga Transportation and Works Department at 201 City Centre Drive, Suite 800, Mississauga, ON L5B 2T4
- Processing takes up to two months; decision communicated by mail
